What it is
A private trip designed from a blank page.
A tailor-made China tour is a private trip designed from a blank page for your party. You share your dates, who is traveling, your interests and the pace you like. Our China-based team proposes the route, hotels, private guide, driver and transport, and you change it as often as you need before confirming.
It differs from a Signature Journey in one way: it does not start from a published route. If you want one city in depth, a food-led trip, a slower pace for older parents, or halal dining and prayer-aware timing, we build that in from the start rather than adding it later.
Starting points
Start from a journey you like, then make it yours.
Each of these is a published journey that guests often use as a starting point. Change the days, the hotels or the pace and we rework the whole route around you.

Good questions to ask us.
What is the difference between a tailor-made journey and a Signature Journey?
A tailor-made journey is designed from a blank page around you and can change at every stage. A Signature Journey starts from a defined, published route that we then adjust to your dates, party and pace. Both are private to your party. Choose tailor-made when you want a different set of cities, and a Signature Journey when you want a proven plan to start from.
How long does planning take?
A China-based specialist normally replies within a day with a first idea of the route, and you can refine it as often as you like. Many private journeys are booked four to eight months ahead, and earlier for peak periods such as Golden Week. Our guide to booking a private China tour in advance explains the timing.
What does a tailor-made China tour cost?
The price depends on your dates, party size, hotels, route and pace. Each published journey is priced individually, and your written proposal states exactly what it covers. It reflects your actual choices, and international flights are not included. Our guide to private China tour costs explains what drives the price.
Is a tailor-made tour a group tour?
No. Your guide, vehicle and daily plan are arranged for your party alone. Flights, trains and ticketed sites such as museums remain shared public services, but your guide meets you and handles the logistics around them.
Can I change plans after I have booked?
Changes before departure are handled under our booking terms, and your proposal states any stricter supplier conditions before you pay. During the trip, your guide and our China team can adjust timing and sights where operations allow.
Can you plan around halal food, children or a slower pace?
Yes. Halal dining, prayer-aware timing, family-ready rooms, fewer hotel changes and a gentler pace are planned into the route from the start, not added afterwards. Our guides to Muslim-friendly, family and slower-paced China travel explain how.
