The local experiences were probably the biggest surprise. We expected AVIORA to be good at arranging hotels and sightseeing, but they were equally thoughtful about what happened between the major attractions.
We visited a local market, had tea in a neighbourhood setting and tried several regional dishes with explanations from our guide. Those experiences felt spontaneous even though we knew they had been carefully considered.
At the same time, the accommodation remained consistently luxurious and comfortable.
I think that combination is important. If everything is luxury, you can lose the sense of place. If everything is rough and local, the trip can become tiring. AVIORA gave us both sides without making either feel compromised.
